One of the stars of the hit Netflix show Squid Game filmed the moment he claims he was assaulted and refused service by a McDonalds manager ‘for being American’.
American actor Geoffrey Giuliano – who played cult hero VIP 4 in the series – was returning from a work trip in Lisbon, Portugal, when the incident unfolded on December 31.
The father-of-six, 69, said he visited the McDonald’s outlet during a connection at the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol when the staff allegedly refused to serve him a veggie burger.
It comes after footage of the actor and his son emerged in 2017 showing what the camera man claimed was Giuliano cutting in line at a supermarket in Thailand before telling him ‘I’m an American, I do what I want, we’re the kings of the world’.
The latest footage shows how a male employee seemingly barging into Giuliano, who actually played Ronald McDonald on TV, before a second man appeared to raise his hand towards him.
The actor, who had been using a wheelchair for a knee injury sustained during a movie stunt, claims he was assaulted during the confrontation and has demanded that McDonald’s apologise.
He says that he is diabetic and needed food at the time, with McDonalds the only food establishment available to him.
He told MailOnline he will be taking legal action against McDonalds and Amstedam Schiphol airport, where the incident happened.
He said: ‘It was conveniently closing time as soon as they saw me.
‘An older Indian McDonald’s greeter saw me, politely put me in the line and pushed me forward.
‘However, when I started talking to my son Eden, a young manager heard my American accent and suddenly they would not serve me.
‘When they realized we were American, they would not serve me. The whole thing was due to an aggressive manager and another employee who obviously did not like Americans.’
Giuliano says this is not the first time he has experienced anti-American discrimination’ in Holland, claiming it has worsened since Donald Trump was elected president.

Had said he had another incident with his granddaughter where a woman in a shop told him ‘why don’t you go back to America and Donald Trump’.
In this incident, as in Thailand in 2017, Giuliano was with his son Eden, now 15.
He said his ‘very shy’ son was ‘upset’ by the two experiences and no longer wants to go out for food with his father.
‘I had a wheelchair for the flight there and back. I stood up and began filming when the manager and another male employee became suddenly aggressive and moved toward my son and me.
‘If you look at the video carefully you can see where he hit me as the camera bumps and I shout “that’s assault”.

‘Regardless of what the staff say, they served people before me and they served people after me, I was the only one who was not served.
‘This is a case of blatant discrimination that spiraled into a physical assault upon my person at the Amsterdam airport.
‘Hitting people is not a justifiable way to deal with anything.’
Giuliano explained that he was flying back from a work trip in Lisbon in Portugal to his second home in Thailand with a connecting flight in Amsterdam.
He visited the fast-food outlet for a snack and says he had reached the front of the queue, with people ahead of him and behind him being served despite claims it had closed from staff.
‘Of course this is all the more ironic in that in the 1980s I was Ronald McDonald on television in North America, and a vegetarian at the time undercover,’ he said.
The operators of the McDonald’s branch did not reply to requests for comment.
However, in a previous email exchange with Giuliano, they claimed that the ‘the restaurant closed at 20.00 PM’.

However, video metadata shows the video was recorded at 5:54pm and Giuliano’s flight with Dutch carrier KLM departed at 8:55 PM.
The company wrote: ‘Thank you for your response, informing us about your visit on New Year’s Eve 2022 at one of the McDonald’s restaurants at Schiphol Airport, where you and your son, during a long layover, were unable to order food.
‘Please be informed that the restaurant closed at 20.00 PM on New Year’s Eve. Since you entered the waiting line before the cash register after 20.00 PM, you were no longer able to place an order since the restaurant had officially closed.
‘The guests in front of you had placed their orders before 20.00 PM and hence were being served.
‘We have looked at the footage you sent us and based on that, we do not agree that the manager (or any other staff) assaulted, humiliated or harassed you.
‘The footage clearly indicates that they were being filmed against their will and without their permission.’
In more dramatic footage involving the actor, from 2017, Giuliano was filmed in a Big-C supermarket in Pattaya, Thailand, appearing to push in front of another customer.
The French expat claims Giuliano then threw around 25 items onto the conveyor belt which was in the ‘ten items or fewer’ zone.
He began filming Giuliano – even telling him he would share it publicly – who then launched a foul-mouthed rant in front of his wife and child.
Giuliano – wearing several press passes with his name on – said: ‘You’re not intimidating me by that camera, I’m an actor.’
The Frenchman replied: ‘I’m just waiting for the next round, because what you said about America was very interesting.’
Giuliano, originally from Rochester, New York, then appeared to become even more aggressive as he begins swearing and moving towards the filmer.
He claims the cameraman was a member of the paparazzi and had followed him to the supermarket.
He said he left the queue ahead of him to go and get bananas then returned to see the French man filming his wife and son, then 11, was crying because of the man
‘I did what any person would do and told him to f*** off’.
The video shows Giuliano saying: ‘Go f*** yourself, OK. Go f*** yourself, OK, let’s get it real straight. You can go f*** yourself, OK.
‘I’m an American, I do what I want, we’re the kings of the world, OK.’
”We’re professional a*******. We have taken being a******* to the highest possible f****** level in this world.’
The Frenchman said: ‘I agree with you.’
Giuliano replied: ”You agree, so we have a point of agreement. Now next time mind your own f****** business.”
A few moments later Giuliano walks out of the busy supermarket in the South Pattaya district of the city yesterday at around 6pm.
Giuliano claims that he had put on the ‘ugly American act’ to ‘wind up’ the cameraman, who he felt had taken a disliking to him for being American.
He said McDonalds workers didn’t know who he was while Thai supermarket man filmed it because he knew he was an actor.
