Stacey Solomon returns to Loose Women three months after giving birth to baby daughter Rose

Stacey Solomon returned to ITV’s Loose Women on Friday after being on maternity leave since last year.

The presenter, 32, and mother-of-four, who was last seen on the programme in October revealed how she’d never felt so ‘in control’ during her recent homebirth.

The TV star, and fiancé Joe Swash welcomed their daughter Rose into the world on October 4th at Pickle Cottage.

New panellist: Stacey Solomon returned to ITV’s Loose Women on Friday and brought her three month old baby Rose into studio with her telling the panel how she’d never felt so ‘in control’ during her recent homebirth

The couple, who are hoping to tie the knot in the coming months, now have five children between them.

Joe has a son, 14-year-old Harry, from a previous relationship. Stacey is also mum to sons Zachary, 13, and Leighton, nine.

Stacey told the panel: ‘There’s not a right or a wrong way to give birth, but I can honestly say I’ve never felt so calm and relaxed.

‘I’ve always associated birth with trauma and I always feel really scared when I go into labour and being in hospital almost confirms that fear.

‘I didn’t just feel safe, it was the first time I ever felt in control during labour.’

Stacey also revealed that baby Rose was diagnosed with tongue-tie, the same condition her son Rex had and was forced to undergo an operation after he was diagnosed.

She told the panel that she was trying to raise more awareness of the condition:

‘Ultimately, I just think some people in the medical profession don’t want to recognise it because they then have to put budget towards it.’ she said.

‘But I feel like genuinely, if people have the opportunity to know their baby has tongue tie, they should. I think it would honestly change their life.’

The singer was thrilled to be back in the hot seat and told viewers how much she missed working on the show.

She said: I have loved being at home. In my little fuzzy bubble.

‘But there were so many times when I was tuning in at home and I was thinking ‘I would love to be there.’

She added: ‘I wanted to be here laughing with you, I wanted to be here crying with you.’

It comes as last week, the lunchtime show explained why Stacey was not in a group shot celebrating ITV ‘s female presenters ahead of International Women’s Day.

The Essex native was noticeably absent from the stunning photo taken by Amy Brammall earlier this month in the run-up to International Women’s Day on March 8.

It featured ITV’s iconic women, including Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond , all dressed in shades of pink and red joined together to celebrate girl power.

But her followers were distracted by the absence of several notable characters from the line-up.

They took to the comments to ask: ‘Where is Stacey Solomon tho is she ok xx’.

Another echoed: ‘Carol? Stacey? Judi?’.

While a third chimed in to say: ‘Why no Stacey?’

The official Loose Women and This Morning Instagram pages also posted the picture, and were flooded with comments asking where Stacey was.

But there was a very simple explanation, as a representative for the talk show told The Mirror: ‘Stacey was still on maternity leave when the shoot took place.’

However, there was no explanation behind the omission of Judi Love from the iconic photo.

Stacey and Joe Swash welcomed their daughter Rose on Stacey’s birthday in October.

The star then took three months of maternity leave, before complaining that it was too short.

Stacey read out a question from a fan that said: ‘Why do you only get three months maternity leave?’

The Loose Women host replied and explained: ‘So many of you are messaging me, I know it’s not long enough. I could be in this bubble forever.

‘But I’ve got one of those weird jobs and you never know if you’re going to get work or not and nothing is guaranteed, so you’ve just got to make the most of any opportunity that comes along.

‘Also a lot of my contracts are 12 months that I squeezed into nine months so I could have the three months off and I don’t think I could squeeze them into any less.’
