Sir Patrick Stewart made his intergalactic comeback in the breathtaking new trailer for Star Trek: Picard released at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.
It’s been 17 years since Stewart last filled the titular role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, with the character’s most recent appearance in the feature film Star Trek: Nemesis back in 2002.
The trailer also sees more familiar faces returning, including Seven of Nine, played by Jeri Ryan and Data, played by Brent Spiner.

Viewers got a glimpse of new cast members Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Santiago Cabrera, and Harry Treadaway as well.
The trailer centers on a wistful Picard’s efforts to adapt to civilian life just as an unforeseen woman – played by Isa Briones – appears before him, looking for help.
After this happens, Picard is urged to return to Starfleet to run a new crew and connect with old friends again.

‘These past few years, I’ve really tried to belong here,’ Picard says in the trailer.
