A prowler was spotted outside Star Trek legend William Shatner’s home early on Thursday evening

William Shatner’s home went on red alert after a prowler was spotted outside.

The 86-year-old Star Trek actor was at his San Fernando Valley property when an adult male wearing shorts was seen peering in at around 5pm on Thursday, according to authorities.

Someone at the residence went out to confront the suspicious man, who paced in an agitated fashion before fleeing, police sources told TMZ.

After a 911 call was made, officers arrived within five minutes but they could find no trace of the prowler.

Shatner, who played Captain James T Kirk in the 1960s’ TV series, still regularly appears at Star Trek fan conventions.

The original show ran on NBC but was pulled after the third season amid falling ratings.

However, it continued in reruns, quickly achieving cult status in the US and around the world.
