Starbucks robber to SUE Good Samaritan customer

The suspect in a Starbucks armed robbery is now planning to sue a Good Samaritan customer who stepped in and beat him with a chair to subdue him.

Ryan Michael Flores, 30, was allegedly caught on surveillance cameras holding up a Starbucks in Fresno, California armed with a knife and a fake gun back in July.

Customer Cregg Jerri, 58, was filmed striking Flores with a chair before getting into a fight with the alleged robber as they both struggled for his knife.

Both Jerri and Flores were seriously injured and suffered multiple stab wounds during the ordeal.

Flores’ mother Pamela Chimienti said her son now plans on suing Jerri for going overboard and using excessive force.

‘He has 17 total stab wounds, lacerations, and defensive wounds,’ Chimienti told KSEE-TV.

‘The guy, in my opinion, went from a Good Samaritan to a vigilante.

‘Stabbing somebody that many times, it doesn’t take that many stab wounds to get somebody to succumb to you.’

Jerri was stabbed in the neck and received six staples. Meanwhile Flores’ mother said her son nearly died in the emergency room from his stab wounds.

Flores, who remains in jail facing a felony attempted robbery charge, has allegedly claimed he was simply trying to get away from Jerri when the Good Samaritan was stabbed.

Lawyers have said Flores will have a tough time selling his excessive force argument to jurors and police have labeled a potential lawsuit as ‘ludicrous’.

Police hailed Jerri as a hero at the time and the footage of him thwarting the robbery quickly went viral.

It allegedly showed Flores entering the Starbucks wearing a Transformers mask and approaching the counter wielding the gun.

He held out a bag to the young woman working the register before pulling out a large knife, waving it menacingly at her.

In the background, another Starbucks worker cleaned table tops and smiled as Jerri picked up a chair and charged at the suspect.

Jerri was filmed beating the suspect over the head with the chair before they fell to the ground wrestling for the knife.

Police said Flores got into a truck and drove away from the scene, but ditched the vehicle and was later found bleeding on the side of the road.
