This is the hilarious moment a Tour de France rider spanks a cheeky fan who had pulled a moonie from the crowd as the competitors raced past.

The startling scene was recorded by an onlooker during the ninth stage of the Tour de France from Saint-Etienne to Brioude in central-eastern France.

In the video, the peloton of riders can be seen speeding past a group of fans, two of whom have pulled their trousers down to show their backsides to the cyclist.

The clip is going viral with over 510,000 views in less than a day.

Viewers online loved the clip, such as ‘Tankslapper’ who wrote: ‘Is that what they mean when they say the “rear of the Peloton’?”

And ‘Antonio Colchero’ wrote: ‘They should be found and have a police report filed against them. It is disgusting and disrespectful.’

It is unclear if the spectators in the video have been identified or if Colbrelli will face punishment for his actions.

Article 29.2 of the Tour de France rules prohibit ‘indecent appearance or inappropriate behaviour’ and it is unclear if Colbrelli’s actions fell into the latter category.
