Stephon Clark’s ‘erratic’ brother Stevante poses with a machete on Facebook live

The ‘erratic’ brother of Stephon Clark, who was shot dead while unarmed, filmed himself with a machete outside the Sacramento home where he allegedly threatened to rape a woman before being arrested.

The footage appeared on his Facebook account where he live streamed before police arrived.

He says little in the video but films himself tucking the knife into the top of his trousers.

Stevante was wearing what looked like either a stab vest or a bullet proof vest at the time.

Since his brother’s death on March 18, he has made himself known with loud outbursts during television interviews and at city council meetings.

On Wednesday, Stephon Clark's brother Stevante was arrested after posting a Facebook live of himself with a machete. He had allegedly threatened his roommate's wife that he was going to rape her then went outside the home where he was pictured in what looked like a stab vest

On Thursday,  Stevante, 25, was arrested after police received ‘multiple’ calls about him.

His roommate Alex Rouska claimed that he was threatening to rape his wife Samantha.

The timeline of the events is unclear but at some stage, Stevante went outside and started filming himself.

Stevante said very little as he filmed himself.

He appeared to be standing on the street on the other side of the road from the house where he had been renting a room from the couple for the last several months.

Once in jail, Stevante, 25, gave an interview where he was at first upbeat then became more serious. He told the reporter: 'You have to talk to my lawyer' when questioned about his alleged rape threat

Towards the end of the six-minute video, he said under his breath: ‘Can you hear me?

‘Police released a statement saying they’ll send help. Until they send help, you do not stop.

‘I want the mayor, or I want the chief or I want pastor Phillips f***** (unintelligible).

‘I need power. If he’s going to rest in power, we’re going to make sure… amen. He’s not going to intimidate us with no f****** agenda.’

Stevante then leaned down towards the camera. He was wearing a headset which appeared to have a microphone attached to it.

He then walked over to join another man sitting on the grass.

Stevante was charged with making threats and abusing 911. It is not clear why he called authorities or what he reported to them.

In a jailhouse interview, he told CBS: ‘I’ve never touched anybody in my life.’

When asked about the allegations he had threatened to rape his roommate’s wife, he said: ‘You have to talk to my lawyer.’

Stevante started protesting against police brutality immediately after his brother's death. He is pictured on March 29, the day of his brother's funeral

He said he was concerned for Stevante’s mental health and that his brother’s death ‘broke’ him.

‘This stuff with his brother broke him. He’s broken and it’s not his fault that he’s broken and somebody needs to help fix that boy,’ he said.

Stevante’s brother Stephon had a cell phone in his pocket which police thought was a gun when he was shot dead on March 18.

After his death, he participated in a spate of interviews calling for harsher action against police who shoot unarmed black men.

In one memorable outburst, he repeatedly compelled CNN’s Don Lemon to say his brother’s name.

He then later caused a commotion at a city council meeting by jumping up to sit on the mayor’s desk.
