The rap artist – who hails from Croydon – has enjoyed incredible success in 2017 as he made his way into the mainstream with his chart-topping album Gang Signs and Prayer and also with his top 10 smash, Big For Your Boots.

Following Stormzy’s winning streak, acclaimed British actor Idris Elba took home the Paving The Way award – which has previously been won by Miss Dynamite and Nicola Adams.

The Mountain Between Us star looked effortlessly cool as he picked up his honour in a statement double breasted coat with faux fur lapels.

Earlier in the evening, show host Maya Jama’s big night was overshadowed by a wince-inducing fashion fail on Wednesday, when she arrived at the annual urban event in the exact same dress as guest Sarah-Jane Crawford.

Presenter Maya and Celebs Go Dating star Sarah, 34, suffered the ultimate red carpet catastrophe as they both posed in a showstopping diamond-encrusted dress at the Leeds First Direct Arena.

Framing her dark eyes with lashings of mascara and winged liner, Maya plumped her pout with a subtle slick of taupe lipstick.
