This is the moment a stowaway starling made a surprise appearance in business class during a long-haul flight to London.

The incident took place about 12 hours into the Singapore Airlines flight to London Heathrow and was filmed by an unnamed passenger.

The myna, a bird of the starling family which is common to southern Asia, is believed to have entered the plane in Singapore.

The bird is then thought to have remained in a dark place until the high altitudes and lower cabin pressure prompted it to make an appearance.

The incident was filmed by an eyewitness on Singapore Airlines flight SQ322 to Heathrow and uploaded to Facebook where it has been seen over 30,000 times.

In the footage, the myna is seen perched on one of the business class seats looking around as no one pays it any mind.

After a while, a cabin crew member tries to grab the bird and it flies off as he gives chase.

According to Singapore Airlines, the stowaway starling appeared when the plane was about two hours from landing at Heathrow, and is believed to have been hiding in an overhead bin or somewhere else dark and quiet.

Cabin crew startled the myna during the flight, but it was successfully captured in London after the plane had landed.

According to local media, the bird was handed over to the airport authorities to be put in quarantine.
