Strictly Come Dancing 2023 results: Les Dennis is the first celebrity to be voted off the hit BBC One show after taking on Nikita Kanda in the dance off
For the first time this series the voting lines were opened on Strictly Come Dancing with two couples facing the dreaded dance off.
It was the second live show of the hit BBC One series which saw the 15 celebrities take to the dance floor showcasing their moves to stay in the competition.
However it was not enough for Les Dennis and partner Nancy Xu and Nikita Kanda and Gorka Márquez who were forced to go head-to-head in the dance-off, before the judges decided which pair they would like to save with the other couple sadly being eliminated.
Both couples performed their routines again on Sunday; Nikita and Gorka taking on their Charleston to Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyoncé.

Oh dear: During Saturday’s show both celebrities found themselves finishing at the bottom of the leaderboard, Les with just 15 points for his Samba while Nikita scored 18 for her Charleston
While Les and his dance partner Nancy tried to impress the judges and remain in the competition with their Samba to Rock The Boat by Hues Corporation.
Unfortunately for Les, it was not enough as the judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas all voted to save Nikita and Gorka.
Craig said: ‘The couple I would like to save and who I think danced the best on the night and was the most improved is Nikita and Gorka.’
Motsi agreed: ‘Both couples danced better in the dance off. One couple was extremely better in the dance off. I will save Nikita and Gorka.’
‘I thought it was a competition of two couples on performance alone and who could really nail their performance. I think the couple who did the best job were Nikita and Gorka,’ added Anton.
Shirley agreed and said she would have decided to save Nikita and Gorka if they hadn’t already won the majority of the vote.
Speaking to host Tess Daly about their time on the show and his partnership with Nancy, Les said: ‘I’ve had the best time, this lady has been amazing, a great teacher, she’s really put me through my paces. I did as well as I could for you, I hope!
‘That lot up there, I’m going to miss you so much. I really appreciate and understand the judge’s point of view, thank you so much (To Shirley) for giving me a 10 for entertainment.
