Strictly Come Dancing: Alex Scott suffers a major wardrobe blunder as Neil Jones carries her

Strictly Come Dancing’s Alex Scott suffered a hilarious wardrobe blunder during Saturday’s show, as her sequinned dress became tangled in Neil’s shirt after a passionate Argentine Tango.

The pair earned a mixed reception for their hot and spicy routine, which ended on a hilarious note as Neil was forced to carry her to the judging before host Tess Daly could separate them.

It came as Alex joined the other five remaining celebrities in taking to the floor after last weeks triumphant Blackpool spectacular, with mixed results as several stars faltered upon their return to the ballroom.

Oops! Strictly Come Dancing’s Alex Scott suffered a hilarious wardrobe blunder during Saturday’s show, as her sequinned dress became tangled in Neil’s shirt

The pressure was on for Alex and Neil as they were tasked with performing the first Argentine Tango of the series to Bishop Briggs’ cover of Never Tear Us Apart.

The performance ended with the duo together in a passionate clinch, and over the applause Neil could be heard telling Alex that her tight red sequined dress was ‘stuck to his shirt.’

Adding: ‘I’ll carry you,’ Neil simply lifted Alex and carried her over the judging panel, where Tess stepped into the free them after shouting: ‘We have a minor wardrobe blunder.’

Ridiculous: The pair were separated by host Tess Daly as they prepared to be judged for their routine

Sadly the pair failed to ignite a fire across the whole judging panel, with Craig particularly unimpressed by the performance which he said lacked a freedom of movement in her legs or ‘downstairs.’

He added: ‘I thought it was very heavy and flat-footed, you need to use your feet a lot more in this dance, that… section I thought you looked like you were churning butter than reacting.

‘This dance is all about the lady reacting to the man’s lead and every time you do a kick, it has to be loose and it also has to be a reaction to what he is doing to you, and it felt like you were just determined to get it done you were too tense downstairs.’

Progress: Alex and Neil were still praised for their 'emotional connection' during the performance, but Craig noted the footwork was 'sloppy'

Craig’s ‘downstairs’ comment sparked even more hysteria among the judging panel, despite his attempts to clarify that he meant her legs.

Shirley Ballas – bringing some order back to proceedings – went onto say: ‘There is no other dance that connects two people physically and emotionally and I thought your emotional connection with Neil was outstanding.

‘I was really getting into it and very excited for you, but there were some mistakes and there were some places where you lost balance.’

Sadly Craig’s negative comments meant that Alex and Neil only scored 26 points out of 40, and finished in joint last place on the leaderboard.

Shirley said: ‘You certainly are having a lovely bit of bounce going on today, we’re in the tenth week now we’re looking for the best of the best, you certainly brought a nice bright samba today.

‘Was there a few issues? Yes here and there but generally for one of the most difficult dances I was quite pleased with you.’

Craig added: ‘I thought the upper body looked tone I thought the whole thing was far too placed, the footwork was actually sloppy, apart from that it was perfect!’

The divided comments earned Saffron a disappointing score for Week 10, with 26 points out of 40 and put her in joint last place on the leaderboard.

Karim Zeroual was praised for dancing a Charleston that would go in history last week, so the star was hoping that lightning would strike twice with a Contemporary Couple’s Choice alongside Amy Dowden to Drops of Jupiter by With Confidence.

The CBBC presenter delivered an emotional VT about how his beloved mum supported his dream to be a star, and he proudly embraced her in the audience following the dance.

Despite earning a standing ovation from Motsi, Shirley and Bruno, Craig was surprisingly honest about why he was yet to give Karim a ten.

He said: ‘I thought it was engaging, I thought it had great leaps get turns but I have to say I think at the moment you’re a technician, not an actor and that bothers me.

‘It could have been a lot more, I think it is lacking emotional content. I want you to fly I am desperate to get a ten out for you, but I battling with the fact that your technique is overpowering what you’re trying to say.’

Offering some more positive feedback, Motsi praised: ‘Your technique was unbelievable, I love that you always give 110% today.

‘I specifically love the slow parts, to watch you is like a gift you come every Saturday and I love that and you are brilliant.’

Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse were also showered with praise after dancing a 1960s-themed Couple’s Choice Street/Commercial to Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)’ by Frank Wilson.

Despite an unusual theme the pair were showered with positive comments, and once again came perilously close to a perfect score with 38 points out of 40.

Bruno praised: ‘Oh yes that was my cuppa tea that was, it was so original, clever charming and it was inspired by everyday life and you made it extraordinary that was a great achievement.’

Shirley added: ‘Well I think you’ve made everybody proud and I can only say abs impeccable.’

‘I do love a bit a Northern Soul, I wasn’t completely and entirely sure about the kitchen bit but as soon as you got into the drums I absolutely loved it,’ Craig said.
