Strictly Come Dancing: Casualty actor Nigel Harman is the latest celebrity confirmed to hit the dancefloor

Actor Nigel Harman is the latest celebrity confirmed for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The star, 49, is  known for his role as Dennis Rickman in EastEnders, which he played fromm2003 to 2005.

More recently he has starred in Casualty and has also appeared in Downton Abbey and Hotel Babylon, alongside extensive theatre work.

The big news was unveiled by Christine Lampard on ITV’s Lorraine. 

On Wednesday Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach and Jody Cundy were confirmed.

Bobby is a 20-year-old model and actor, best known for his role as Freddie Slater in UK Soap Opera, EastEnders,

The son of the late Big Brother star Jade Goody, has also graced the runway for world renowned fashion house, Dolce & Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week.

Ellie is best known for portraying Faye Windass for 12 years on Coronation Street, nominated for multiple British Soap Awards and Inside Soap Awards for her role.

Jody is a decorated World and Paralympic Champion, he has represented Great Britain at seven Summer Paralympics winning eight Gold, one Silver and three Bronze medals across swimming and cycling events. 

Jody is one of the biggest success stories for the GB team in Paralympics. The athlete was born with a deformed foot, which was amputated when he was three years old.

He has also competed in multiple World Championships, winning 23 world titles. The most recent win coming at the World Cycling Championships in Glasgow this week.

On Monday Love Island star Zara McDermott was the seventh celeb contestant confirmed.

In July MailOnline exclusively revealed that documentary maker Zara would become the first ever Love Island contestant to appear on the BBC show. 

Angela Rippon, Amanda Abbington, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murphy Eddie Kadi and Angela Scanlon have also been confirmed the new series, which will kick off in September.
