Newsreader Huw Edwards is reportedly pegged to be hitting the dance floor for the 2019 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Insiders revealed exclusively to MailOnline, the 57-year-old news anchor, who attended the semi-final of the show earlier this month, told a pal that he would love to take on the show following reported talks with producers.
Shortly before his chat, Huw, who recently shed three stone, announced that his newly-svelte frame would tempt him to the floor: ‘I think I could move a bit more now and I’m lighter on my feet. Life is about challenges. So yes, why not.’

Sources revealed the star chatted to a friend about his plans for the show, as Huw reportedly claimed he is headed to the dancefloor for next year’s show.
After his appearance in the audience and backstage, where he chatted to host Claudia Winkleman, Huw shared images with his 15,700 Instagram followers while posing behind the judges’ table and later making a dramatic entrance.
Fans swiftly took the images as an apparent confirmation of an upcoming appearance as users penned: ‘Disappointed that you weren’t wearing sequins!… It would be wonderful if you were a contestant on the next series of SCD!…
‘Is this a hint that you will be doing next years show or possibly the Christmas special (jumper won’t cut it though)!…
