Strictly Come Dancing: Tess Daly fails to impress viewers

A series of dramatic events of the ballroom floor were given some light relief on Saturday evening as Strictly Come Dancing co-host Tess Daly divided fans with her choice of dress.

The presenter, 48, had an unintentionally divisive impact on the BBC show’s latest instalment by opting to wear a questionable caped minidress in garish fuchsia pink.

Opening proceedings with co-host Claudia Winkleman, who sported a comparatively conventional black sequinned evening number, Tess prompted an inevitable barrage of comments across social media.

Referring to her elaborate cape, one quipped: ‘Why is Tess dressed like a superhero?’

Embracing a similar theme, a second joked: ‘Is Tess auditioning for Superman? WTF is that dress?’

Clearly unimpressed with the presenter’s ensemble, a third viewer sniped: ‘WT actual F has Tess got draped over her??!!’
