Strictly’s Craig brands Susannah Constantine ‘one of the worst ever’

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has branded Susannah Constantine one the show’s ‘worst dancers ever.’

Speaking at the Best Heroes Awards on Tuesday night, the 53-year-old toldThe Sun he felt the fashion expert’s performance was the right time for him to dust off his one point paddle, which hadn’t been used since 2011.

Susannah earned a mere 12 points after she performed a Samba with dance partner Anton Du Beke on Saturday, leaving her in last place on the leaderboard

Hard words: Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has branded Susannah Constantine one the show’s ‘worst dancers ever’

He said: ‘[Susannah’s] One of the worst. I think the last time I gave someone a ‘one’ was nine years ago. So she’s broken my silence on my vow of never giving anyone a ‘one’.’

But despite the weak score, Craig added that he gave Susannah a friendly pep talk after the live show, adding that her chances look better with a ballroom dance to perform this weekend.

‘Bless her I had to talk to her after the show and we just had a really good chat in the BBC bar about it just saying ‘look you’ve just got to relax and pull yourself together and try and get on with it, pick yourself, forget that ever happened’,’ he said.

‘And hopefully, she’s got a ballroom dance next week and she’s in the ballroom master’s arms. She’s being looked after very very well.’

Unbelievable: Craig told The Sun that her samba led him to dust off his one point paddle for the first time in since 2011

Fans were left in hysterics on Saturday night when Susannah and Anton’s Samba began with the pro emerging from underneath her enormous orange dress, but the judges were less impressed.

Craig said her dancing was like that of someone ‘drunk at a party,’ while Bruno Tonioli added: ‘It was like a car crash miranda, but it can only get better.’

This weekend Susannah and Anton will dance a Foxtrot to Frank Sinatra’s They Can’t Take That Away From Me.

She will be out to rival singers Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer, who went joint top of the leaderboard with 29 points each.

Not good: But the dance earned a mere 12 points from the judging panel, one of the show's lowest scores ever

Susannah also previously spoke out on this year’s line-up for Strictly, hitting out at critics who had called out the show for its ‘barrel scraping’.

She said: ‘For f**k’s sake. I’m sorry, but get over yourself,’ when asked about the backlash by MailOnline.

Chatting to journalists ahead of the launch show, she was adamant the BBC flagship show still has its sparkle.

‘Really this is a great show. We are all really privileged to do it. It’s a fun show, it’s entertainment and we’re all here to do our best. So just get over it,’ Susannah insists.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 29th September at 6:30pm on BBC1.

Better now? But Craig added that he has hope Susannah's dancing can improve in time, especially as she will be dancing a foxtrot this weekend
