Strictly’s Jayde Adams refuses to categorise her sexuality as she speaks out about her love life

Jayde Adams’ star rose when she competed on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing in a same sex couple with professional dancer Karen Hauer.

And, after being voted out of the BBC ballroom dance competition by the public in week five, she says her career, and her love life, is going from strength-to-strength, despite what cruel trolls tell her online.

The comedian, 37, who has previously identified as heterosexual, asked to dance with a woman after competing as a disco dancer with another girl for 13 years, but she insists her mind isn’t totally shut off to embarking on a relationship with another female.

Ambiguous: Strictly Come Dancing’s Jayde Adams, 37, is refusing to put her sexuality in a box after dancing with Karen Hauer on the show this year

She told The Sun: ‘Harry Styles can be ambiguous about sexuality, so why can’t I? Who knows who I’ll end up with? I’ve been in all heterosexual relationships in my life, but as a lot of women are discovering now, perhaps there’s more to life than men…

‘I don’t really like labelling myself. I think once you’re in a box, it’s very hard to get yourself out of that’

She added: ‘My career is going well, I’ve got a house and I’ve got the most incredibly interesting friends. I’m lucky. And I have so much sex with incredibly attractive people. And that’s because I’m incredibly attractive.’

However, while she’s keeping her options open for the future, single Jayde admits she’s not ready for a relationship just yet.

The star bought her own house which she said surprised her neighbours when she first moved in as they assumed it had been bought for her by her parents or her husband.

And while Jayde says she had a positive experience while competing on Strictly Come Dancing, she admits she was trolled because of her size while on the show.

The 6ft 2 star wants to encourage women to be kinder to each other but laughs off the cruel comments she receives online.

Speaking on BBC Sounds Woman’s Hour with Krupa Padhy previously, Jayde discussed the comments she receives from internet trolls and added that it will ‘never stop.’

She began: ‘I knew it was going to happen to me because every time I’m on TV someone comments on my weight, I just knew it was going to happen.

‘I could do one of two things, I could ignore it, or I could tackle it. I found it funny, I could show people who follow me some resilience.’

Speaking of the comments she added: ‘Someone wrote, this is Jayde Adam’s rocking up to Strictly, with a picture of the Michelin Man, and I laughed!’

Jayde continued: ‘I don’t want people to say stuff like that but these people want to have a reaction.’

‘The most useful thing to do it to not get at them, it’s to show resilience because it’s never going to stop.’

Jayde took part in Strictly to keep the memory of her sister Jenna alive after she died at the age of 26 from an inoperable brain tumour in 2011.

The pair used to perform together as children and Jayde took to Instagram last month to share a picture of her sibling after dedicating a dance to her on the show, saying she would grieve the loss for the rest of her life.

Jayde also poignantly shared pictures of the pair as they danced together in their teens as well as a shot of a young Jenna beaming for the camera.

She penned: ‘Last picture we ever had together. Her love for me was so strong, I’ll never ever feel unloved in my life’.

‘I will grieve my loss for her for the rest of my life, it is the most important thing that has ever happened and I am beyond grateful to be able to channel my grief through creativity, thank you @bbcstrictly @karenhauer’.
