Strictly’s Katya Jones and Nicola Adams look in good spirits as they leave late-night rehearsals

They are set to Jive to Greased Lightnin’ by John Travolta from Grease during Strictly’s Movie Week.

And Katya Jones and Nicola Adams looked pretty pleased with rehearsals as they stepped out in London on Tuesday evening.

Ballroom dancer Katya, 31, and former boxer Nicola, 38 – who are making show history as the first ever same-sex dance partners – smiled as they left the dance studios after another gruelling rehearsal session.

Go for it: Katya Jones and Nicola Adams looked pretty pleased with rehearsals as they stepped out in London on Tuesday evening

Katya kept her look casual in a pastel pink jumper and khaki skirt, teamed with leg warmers and trainers.

She layered  up in a chestnut padded coat as she strolled.

Olympian Nicola wore a cream tracksuit and yellow boots, paired with a similar padded jacket and a woollen hat.

The outing comes after Katya said that boxer Nicola doesn’t have ‘natural grace’ as she admitted that some of her previous Strictly partners were ‘problematic.’

The Russian pro, who came third on Saturday’s leaderboard with the Olympic medalist, also insisted that ‘there should be chemistry,’ regardless of whether with a man or a woman.

Katya told The Sun: ‘Nicola is my fifth dance partner and there have been some who were… problematic, let’s say.

‘Even if you take Nicola, she does not have natural grace, plasticity. But, if you apply the right method I believe anyone can learn.’

She continued: ‘I love this term – aggressive positivity – it’s kind of such an optimistic-aggressive attitude. There should be “chemistry.” It doesn’t matter with a man or a woman.’

Katya also admitted that she’s embraced the opportunity to indulge in new forms of choreography, adding: ‘Who’s the leader, who’s the follower?’

Oh dear: Katya admitted some of her previous partners have been 'problematic' - she was famously snapped kissing dance partner Seann Walsh during the 2018 competition

In 2016, Katya quickly stole the show with her creative routines and enthusiastic political partner Ed Balls, with the pair finishing in sixth place.

In 2017 she lifted the Glitterball Trophy with popular Scottish actor, Joe McFadden by her side.

In 2018 Katya teamed up with comedian Seann Walsh, and the duo made it to Halloween week after being caught up in their own ‘Strictly Curse’.

The Russian beauty was caught kissing dance partner Seann when she was married to fellow pro Neil Jones, 38, and while he was in a relationship with Rebecca Humphries.

Rebecca immediately broke up with Seann, while Katya and Neil split 10 months after the scandal.

In 2019, Katya took dance partner Mike Bushell two weeks further, to Week 8, bowing out just before Blackpool.

Katya’s comments about Nicola’s dancing ability came after the boxer laughed off any worries of the so-called Strictly Curse, days before their first dance.

The Olympian has been dating her girlfriend Ella Baig, 22, for over two years and told Grazia magazine that the curse doesn’t actually exist.

‘It’s not a big deal. It’s not even a curse. You’re either happy with your partner or you’re not!’ she insisted.

The Strictly Curse has been speculated about for years, after celebs and pro dancers on the series have fallen for one another, ruining their relationships – and even marriages – in the real world.

The couple is typically torn apart by time-related issues or one partner’s attraction to another person on the show, which in the past has led to divorces, breakups, called-off engagements and more.

In a previous chat with The Sun, Nicola remarked that Katya is ‘smoking hot’ but echoed her sentiments that she and Ella ‘are so strong we will never be a victim of the Strictly Curse’.

Ella also added: ‘I’m not worried about the curse. Nicki and me are best friends so I don’t really see anyone as competition and she doesn’t either.

‘The grass is never greener on the other side and me and Nicki have a lot of history together, so I don’t think anyone is going to steal her off me.

Energetic: Before taking to the dancefloor with Nicola for the first time, Katya said being in a same-sex couple doesn't faze her as it's a 'really normal thing' in the dance world

‘We did have a conversation about the curse and we agreed I would meet her dance partner so there are no hard feelings or jealousy there.’

Before taking to the dancefloor with Nicola for the first time, Katya said being in a same-sex couple doesn’t faze her as it’s a ‘really normal thing’ in the dance world.

Speaking with the Radio Times, Katya praised her partner and added that she thinks the duo will be ‘a powerhouse together’ as they’re both ‘strong-minded women’.

Katya explained: ‘In the ballroom world, there are same-sex partnerships and same-sex competitions, so it’s a really normal thing, you know?
