Strictly’s Neil Jones CONFIRMS he’ll return with Alex Scott

Strictly Come Dancing’s Neil Jones has confirmed that he will return for Saturday’s live show with his dance partner Alex Scott after suffering from an injury.

During an appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two, Neil revealed that he has been given the go ahead by his physio to perform on this week’s programme.

The professional dancer, 37, has been forced to miss the last two weeks of the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition’s live shows after suffering a calf injury.

Speaking on the show Alex – who has been dancing with Kevin Clifton whilst Neil has been recovering – said: ‘I now know who I’m dancing with. Are you ready? Shall we bring him in? It is … I am dancing with, my normal partner Neil Jones! He is back, yes.’

And Neil added: ‘It’s great to be back. She’s been doing so well every week, and Kevin I have to say thank you, because Kevin has been there all the way and he’s been great this week. We couldn’t had done it without him.’

This week, former football star Alex has been rehearsing her jive routine with both Neil and Kevin, and said earlier in the week that they’ve both been ‘amazing’.

Rest and recovery: Neil has been unable to compete alongside Alex after getting a grade one strain in his calf, which has meant he needs to use crutches until he's fully healed

She said: ‘I’ve been dancing with both, and Neil will make the decision. ‘If he’s 100 per cent, I know he will go out there and dance. Actually, I just want to say how frustrating it’s been for Neil.

‘Just hearing everybody speak about me dancing with Kev, and this guy is amazing! I want to be at the level that I’m at with him right now.

‘Whether I’m dancing with Neil or I’m dancing with Kev, they are both amazing guys.’ And the news will no doubt come as a relief to Neil, as on Thursday (07.11.19) he still had no idea if he would be dancing this weekend.

He said: ‘I’m really hoping. I still don’t know. ‘I’ve been dancing a lot today. I’ve been doing that. It’s been feeling good, but I need to be passed by the physio.’

Their appearance comes after Neil told a fan on Twitter that he wouldn’t know until Friday whether he is fit enough to perform with Alex during the live show.

Replying to a follower on social media on Wednesday, Neil said: ‘Hey no it’s just with my injury I need to be 100% fit and I will only know this on Friday when back in with the physio but trust me I want to be back.’

On Monday, Neil told fans it’s looking ‘positive’ he will return to Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday to dance with his partner Alex.

The professional dancer has been out of action for two weeks after he injured his calf moments before Saturday’s November 1 live show.

At the time, Neil took to Twitter to reveal he was back in rehearsals and answered fans fears over his future in the competition.

Neil tweeted: ‘Most people don’t like Monday’s but I do… That’s because I get to teach a NEW DANCE!!!!’

One viewer commented: ‘Are you looking to be dancing though?’ To which the dancer responded: ‘It’s positive at the moment but still I need to see.’

Neil has been unable to compete alongside Alex after getting a grade one strain in his calf, which has meant he needs to use crutches until he’s fully healed.
