Strictly hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman sign an ‘even BIGGER six-figure deal to remain on the show for another two years’

Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have reportedly signed a new six-figure deal to remain as hosts for another two years.

The presenters have fronted the show together since 2014 and it’s said that their new deal is ‘even bigger’ than before.

Reports suggest that the duo already earn a combined salary of around £300,000 and it is said BBC bosses are happy to splash the cash for them as they don’t want to ‘lose’ them to rival broadcasters.

A source told The Sun: ‘Beeb chiefs absolutely love Tess and Claudia and wouldn’t dream of ever losing them. They are especially proud of the fact that they have two women hosting a show on a Saturday and Sunday on prime time BBC1. It is an enviable position to be in.’

The insider added that though the hosts may ‘command a high price’, they are still seen by bosses as ‘great value for money’, given the popularity they have among loyal viewers.

The source added: ‘In the nine years they’ve been fronting the show, Tess and Claudia have become synonymous with the programme and bosses couldn’t contemplate them not being its presenters.’

They went on to remark that it is this reason why TV executive are so keen for the ladies to sign on the dotted line for another to years and ensure that Tess and Claudia are not ‘poached’ by rival broadcasters.

MailOnline have contacted Strictly representatives for comment.

Tess, 53, has fronted the show from the very beginning since it began in 2004.

While former It Take Two presenter Claudia, 51, stepped in as co-anchor in 2014, after the late Bruce Forsyth quit the show.

And while Claudia has branched out to front other shows including last year’s hugely popular The Traitors,  Tess limits her TV work to mainly Strictly.

In 2022 she said of hosting the show: ‘I can’t imagine being anywhere else. This will be the 18th year, and I’m still so passionate about it.

‘I love the realness of it, not knowing what’s going to happen next.’

It comes as it’s been reported that the BBC are making a new version of Strictly Come Dancing – this time for amateurs.

The new primetime dance competition show, called Clear The Dancefloor, will see ordinary people battle to win over a panel of celebrity judges.

Like other competition shows, such as Britain’s Got Talent, the judges will also be equipped with noisy buzzers

Tuesday’s Child production company will reportedly start filming next month in front of a studio audience.

‘There’s a lot of hope pinned on this sparkly new show and producers are hoping it will be a big hit.

‘It’s light, fun entertainment, just what viewers needs when there’s no Strictly to watch.
