Strictly’s Zoe Ball ‘had a secret coronavirus scare and isolated at home’ making her miss It Takes Two and her radio show
Zoe Ball had to isolate for several days after having a coronavirus scare, it has been reported.
The TV host, 50, is thought to have come down with ‘cold and flu-like symptoms’ on Tuesday and was told to isolate at home by BBC bosses, reports The Sun.
During the week Zoe missed Strictly: It Takes Two and three days of her BBC Radio 2 show while she followed government guidelines and waited for the results of a test.

A source told the publication: ‘Clearly Zoe did not want to take any chances and adhered to government guidelines to the letter.
‘After coming down with cold and flu-like symptoms, she rang her BBC bosses who immediately advised her to stay home and isolate.
‘A test was sent to her and Zoe didn’t want to alarm people my making anyone aware, obviously she was hugely relieved to see the results come back negative.’
They added that she hopes to be back at work on Monday after being given the all-clear on Thursday night.

Rylan Clark-Neal stood in for her on Wednesday’s episode of It Takes Too. He has also had to miss presenting the show in the past after having to isolate at home.
Back at the start of November the presenter, 32, tweeted a statement telling fans he’d come into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Rylan has co-hosted It Takes Two with Zoe Ball on alternate days this series, with the pair unable to host the show together due to strict social distancing measures.

Zoe also missed her BBC Radio 2 show, with Matt Lucas and Amol Rajan stepping in to cover for her during the week.
Although they didn’t go into detail about why the host was missing, it was said on air that Zoe was ‘feeling under the weather’.
The It Takes Two host celebrated her 50th birthday on Monday and was seen leaving the BBC studios during the evening.
Zoe was not able to have a big celebration for her 50th birthday amid strict Covid-19 restrictions, which see the Strictly stars social distancing on the show.
Before heading to the studios, she posted a throwback snap on Instagram showing one of her previous birthdays on the series, which saw her being gifted cupcakes.

BBC show Strictly has introduced strict new guidelines for this year’s series to go ahead amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Couples dancing on the series have formed their own separate bubbles so they can train and perform.
However, celebrities and pros from separate bubbles are not allowed to mix during filming or backstage, and must maintain social distancing at all times.
