He went his own way after splitting with Sophie Monk earlier this year.

And Stu Laundy has revealed he is still in contact with his ex girlfriend, who recently revealed she is in a new relationship with a mystery man.

‘Both of us believe we were better suited as friends. We have a very similar sense of humour and love of life.’

‘Our lives are just different. We worked it out… On the show you don’t get enough time to work out all the different details. Our lives are in different places,’ he added.

The former flames called it quits in January this year after Sophie posted a statement via Instagram, just six months after declaring their love for each other on The Bachelorette.

‘I gave it the best shot I could and my intentions were everything I said I was looking for, but unfortunately it didn’t work out,’ Sophie’s statement read.

‘There were not contracts or pressure to stay together whatsoever from anyone and we remain friends,’ she added before apologising to audiences who were invested.

The Love Island host has since moved on with a new man, telling KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson how her steamy airplane romance began.

‘I’ve been travelling heaps. I was so exhausted. And I sit next to this random in business class,’ she started.
