Sunrise hosts cry with laughter as couple get married live on air during cringe-worthy Krispy Kreme drive-thru wedding and the groom tells his bride he loves her more than his three footy teams

Sunrise hosts Natalie Barr and David Koch were in stitches on Tuesday when a couple tied the knot during a Krispy Kreme drive-thru wedding on Valentine’s Day.

Lovebirds Wesley and Veronica sat in the back of a white Cadillac convertible which drove them through the drive-thru at the Liverpool, Sydney store, to a food collection window where a licenced celebrant helped them exchange vows. 

Channel Seven reporter Katie Brown was at the scene and explained how the couple had their first date at the exact location eight years ago.

‘They met here at this Liverpool store eight years ago,’ Katie said.

‘They have four beautiful daughters who were part of their proposal. And of course Veronica said yes, so here she is today.’

Back in the studio Natalie Barr, David Koch, Mark Beretta and Edwina Barthlowmew howled with laughter as Wesley told his blushing bride he loved her more that his top three favourite footy teams during their vows.

‘I love you more than Aston Villa, Manly and the Phoenix Suns combined,’ Wesley as the hosts erupted into fits laughter.

‘You’re my best friend, my partner in crime and my soulmate.’

‘Wes, since the first day we met, I knew you were the one. I’m so grateful not only for the love you show me, but also how you love our girls,’ Veronica said.

‘You are always there for them for advice, support, and especially bad dad jokes.’

The pair then exchanged rings in the back of the vintage vehicle before sealing their love with a kiss.

Wesley and Veronica stepped out of the car and reunited with their family and four daughters as they prepared to cut the ‘cake’ – a tower of various flavours of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

The newlyweds’ daughters later explained to Katie Brown how they were participated in their parents’ proposal.

‘So we were just hiding behind the couch just waiting. We had a lot of false alarms. And then finally we just saw her come in and we just stood up and… yeah,’ one of the daughters recalled.

They also explained how Veronica has already said yes before Wesley even had a change to open the engagement ring box.

The unique wedding comes as part of Sunrise’s Valentine’s Day special on Tuesday.

‘Their vows were so personal and it meant so much to them,’ host Natalie said to Kochie back in the studio.
