Sunrise star Natalie Barr glows in black strapless dress as she makes her red carpet debut with her new co-host Matt Shirvington at the Logie Awards

Sunrise hosts Matt Shirvington and Natalie Barr made their red carpet debut as co-hosts at the Logie Awards on Sunday after the former Olympian joined the show last month.

The duo beamed as they made a grand entrance at The Star in Sydney.

Natalie was the epitome of timeless elegance in a sophisticated strapless black gown.

Her makeup palette was also on point, with the TV star rocking a smoky eye, black mascara and glossy nude lipstick.

Her brunette locks were artfully tied up, her fringe parted down the middle to frame her face in a soft, flattering style.

Meanwhile, her Sunrise partner-in-crime looked every bit the dapper gentleman.

The 44-year-old sported a tailored black tuxedo, perfectly paired with a crisp white button-up shirt and a classic black bow-tie.

His ensemble was polished off with a pair of shiny black shoes, completing his debonair look.

Shirvington and Natalie celebrated recently celebrated their big ratings win, after rival Today show was forced to operate without its leading man Karl Stefanovic, who was away from the desk on a two-week holiday.

Karl, 48, was previously slated to go head-to-head with David Koch’s replacement, but was MC’ing at chicken heiress Tamie Ingham’s wedding to Guillaume Brahimi in Paris instead.

Instead, the program was fronted by Karl’s co-host Sarrah Abo and fill-in, Nine’s chief political editor Charles Croucher.

Shirvington and Barr celebrated recently celebrated their big ratings win, after rival Today show was forced to operate without its leading man Karl Stefanovic, who was away from the desk on a two-week holiday 

‘The timing is absolutely horrible. It’s never been more important for Karl and Sarah to put on a united front,’ a source told New Idea.

‘It’s crucial Karl be there to prove what Today is made of while Shirvo and Nat try to step up without Kochie [David Koch].’

However Nine Network’s director of morning television Steven Burling defended Karl’s break and said it was ‘pure coincidence’.

‘[Karl] booked in these two weeks’ leave some months ago. The fact his holiday coincides with Shirvo’s first day is pure coincidence. Nothing more,’ he said.
