Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac and his girlfriend Rebecca James buy their first home together

Things are getting serious between Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac and his girlfriend Rebecca James.

So much so, the sweet couple have purchased their first property together.

Posting to his Instagram on Saturday, the 40-year-old TV personality announced the exciting news alongside his beautiful partner.

They’re homeowners! Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac and his girlfriend Rebecca James have celebrated buying their first home together in Sydney on Saturday

‘We bought a bloody house! In Sydney! Already drinking our way through the pain as we calculate the stamp duty #Pray4Us,’ he captioned the post.

In the picture, the new homeowners appear to be overjoyed as Sam carries a set of keys in hand, while stylist Rebecca is gripping onto a bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne.

Sam’s post was inundated with messages of congratulations as the two celebrate the major milestone.

‘Amazing. Congratulations!’ fellow Channel Seven employee and journalist Angela Cox wrote.

‘MASSIVE achievement to bug anything in bloody Sydney! Well done guys! X,’ former SAS Australia contestan Erin Holland commented.

Meanwhile, Sam let slip that he would be neighbours with fellow media personality Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald, of NovaFM.

The pair’s decision to purchase their new home comes one month after Rebecca made her long-overdue debut on Sunrise.

At the time, co-anchors David Koch and Natalie Barr quizzed Sam about his living arrangement during a live cross from Sydney.

‘She moved from Victoria, but now she’s actually trapped!’ Sam said, referencing the state border closures.

‘So even if it’s not going okay for her, she can’t go back, so I’ve got her, guys!’

While Rebecca kept her mask on during the minute-long encounter, the stylist did give her boyfriend a hug before dropping off some snacks for him and the crew.

‘In fact, if you turn the camera around she’s actually only about 20m away,’ Sam added. ‘She’s loitering in the park with a bag and she’s got some goodies in it.

‘She’s got some banana bread in there, so life is great!’

Rebecca didn’t say much on camera, but Natalie did let slip the two could be heading for an engagement, as she joked: ‘This is what you’ve married into…’

Sam and Rebecca first went public in March, and spent much of their relationship in different states due to the Covid pandemic, but are now living together in Sydney.

She’s just so calm, down-to-earth, and caring, as well as being absolutely beautiful,’ he told Stellar of his girlfriend in April.

At the time, he hinted he was already thinking about marriage and children with Rebecca.

He said: ‘Everyone wants to share their life with someone who is super special to them. I want to start thinking about what the next five or 10 years will look like.

‘I’ve written my first book, I’ve got a great girlfriend, a fantastic family and my job’s going well. Life is really good.’
