‘We accept all major credit cards, scars, scrapes, breaks and bruises.’

The designated ‘Pay with Pain’ section of the website has a compilation video of surfers and skaters hurting themselves combined with images sent in by customers encouraged to share their stories with the #paywithpain hashtag.

Customers can save money displaying their injuries in two ways. People can post their cuts and scars to Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag to get a unique discount code, or can come in store and show off their breaks and bruises for 20% off RipCurl merchandise if they spend over $80.

‘Is it me or this is really, really awful?’ one person tweeted with an image of the surfer with a lacerated shoulder.

‘I have a double layer c-section scar. Surely that’s good for a crocheted bralette or shell necklace…’ another person said.

‘I can think of no way that this will have unintended side effects,’ a social media user replied.

The ‘Pay with Pain’ promotion ends on Saturday. Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Ozmosis for comment.
