NRL star Todd Carney and MAFS veteran Susie Bradley have revealed the surprising request they made on their wedding day.

The couple, who got married in a gorgeous outdoor wedding on the Gold Coast last month, revealed they didn’t want to supply any alcohol to guests.

Susie told The Daily Telegraph, the pair have been sober for two years and decided to not supply alcohol but told guests they could bring their own.

‘I didn’t want to supply any alcohol at all. Todd isn’t the only one who is sober, I joined him in sobriety the day he got out of rehab and it’s been two years now,’ she said.

‘I was happy for people to BYO.’

Susie admitted she was surprised when Todd later revealed to her he had ‘supplied some alcohol as he wanted people to still enjoy the celebration.’

Todd and Susie tied the knot in an outdoor wedding at their home on the Gold Coast.

Sharing photos and videos of the stunning ceremony to Instagram, the happy couple were all smiles as they exchanged vows in front of their loved ones.

Susie stole the show as she arrived at the altar wearing an opulent halter neck gown with an open back which moulded to her figure in a classic silhouette.

A wave-hemmed train skated along the ground behind her as she pulled her brunette tresses back into a neat up-do.

Elevating her natural beauty with a smoky eye and nude lip, the former reality TV contestant fixed a long white veil in her tresses.

She polished off her simple yet classy look with a set of beautiful pearl earrings and a bouquet of pastel pink and yellow flowers.

Meanwhile, Todd looked very dapper in his black and white tuxedo.

The pair announced they were engaged for a second time in May 2024.

The couple reconciled in May 2023 after calling off their first engagement in 2022.

Susie, who appeared on season two of Married At First Sight, shared the happy news by posting a video of the romantic moment on Instagram.

In the clip, Todd could be seen getting down on one knee at the beach alongside the couple’s son Lion, three.

‘We met on the Saturday. On the Sunday he took me to this beach were we ate pizza and watched the sunset, and he said the words to me, “Lay back on me,”‘ Susie said.

‘It was in this very moment, on this very beach, laying back in his arms I knew. I knew I would love him forever.’

The couple began dating back in 2019, with Todd stepping into the role of stepfather to Susie’s daughter Baby.

They announced their first engagement in December 2020, shortly before confirming Susie was also pregnant with their first child together.

They welcomed son Lion in April 2021.
