Jonathan LaPaglia has had a varied career with roles in a series of high profile TV shows in Australia and Hollywood.
But the 49-year-old admits that his best-known gig, as host of Australian Survivor, may have cost him acting jobs.
‘Sometimes you wake up and think ‘how did I get here’, but I’m sure everyone has those thoughts,’ he tells The Daily Telegraph.

The star adds that appearing on reality TV ‘maybe has’ cost him other work.
Jonathan has appeared in a whole host of television roles, including on American crime drama NCIS as Special Agent Brent Langer.
More recently he played Dr. Patrick McNaughton in the retro drama Love Child alongside Jessica Marais.
He’s also known for his turn on lauded Australian drama The Slap as hunky Hector.

As the third season of Australian Survivor approached earlier this year, Jonathan spoke candidly about Hollywood’s cutthroat industry.
Speaking to Who Magazine, the actor said you need to have thick skin in order to succeed in show business.
‘One minute you have ‘heat’ and everyone wants you, but as quickly as that happens, it disappears, and there’s no rhyme or reason,’ he said.

‘It often has no bearing on your talent or how much work you put in… The industry marches forward; they don’t stop for you. You have to have thick skin.’
The Love Child star has been searching for new acting and directing gigs.
‘So I’m starting from ground zero to make it happen. It’s all up to me,’ he said.
