The former Survivor reality TV show producer who was convicted of killing his wife has been spotted for the first time back home in California following his release from a Mexican prison.
Bruce Beresford-Redman, 48, was released from prison on June 20 after serving just seven years of a 12-year sentence for murdering his Brazilian-born wife Monica Burgos, 41, and stuffing her body in a sewer while on vacation.
Beresford-Redman was pictured for the first time on Wednesday outside his home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Gardena where he is living with his mother and two children.
The convicted murderer was also later spotted holding his mother’s hand as he took her out shopping to Home Depot and later clasping onto a wallet with cards inside.
Two younger women were also reportedly seen approaching the home and talking with him on the doorstep.

When approached today, while appearing to take out the trash, he told a videographer he had ‘no comment’ about the claims he should still be in prison and also denied to comment about his family’s well-being.
The ex-producer was convicted of beating and strangling his 41-year-old wife after her body was found naked in a sewer at a Cancun resort back in 2010 while they were on a vacation with their children, then aged 3 and 5.
Beresford-Redman, who had been extradited from California to face the murder charge, was sentenced in 2012 to 12 years in the Mexican prison after facing a maximum sentence of 50 years.
He was released two months ago having served just over seven years and paying $2,000 in restitution after being credited for good behavior.
Under Mexican law, prisoners can be eligible for release after serving 60 percent of a sentence.

Beresford-Redman has always maintained his innocence.
His parents David and Juanita were awarded permanent custody of the children in late 2010 after Monica’s body was found and Beresford-Redman was first suspected of murder. His father died last year.
Beresford-Redman, who worked on the reality TV shows Survivor and Pimp My Ride, reported his wife missing during their April 2010 vacation.
He told authorities she had left their Moon Palace Hotel to go shopping and never returned.
The vacation was meant to be an attempt to mend their marriage after Burgos found out Beresford-Redman had been cheating on her.

According to a complaint filed in a U.S. court on behalf of the Mexican government at the time, two teenagers staying in the room below the couple reported hearing ‘screams, crying for help and extremely loud banging’.
They said it sounded like a woman was in ‘extreme distress’.
Beresford-Redman had told hotel staff that the couple had a fight about their children and that the screams were from a game they were playing with their son.
Burgos’ naked and bruised body was found two days later on her 42nd birthday.
She was found stuffed into a sewer on hotel property.
At the time, investigators said Burgos was killed after a ‘violent confrontation’ where he beat her with a metal pole.
In the weeks before his wife’s death, the producer had taken out two life insurance policies in her name that would pay $50,000 and $500,000 in the event of her death.
Beresford-Reman had his passport seized and was ordered not to leave Mexico at the time but was able to cross the border using a different form of ID. Only U.S. citizens traveling by air across the border need to present their passport.
He returned home but was extradited to Mexico in 2012 on the murder charge following a lengthy court battle.

‘I’ve been accused of a horrible, abhorrent crime and I’m innocent. I did not kill Monica,’ he said in a documentary for CBS News’ 48 Hours TV special during his trial.
The producer started making video in custody to ‘give a sense of what life is like here in hell’.
‘Making these videos has made me more visible… my existence has become a basic struggle to survive.
‘The reality of reality television, even at its best, is a world that’s created. Being in here is real and it sucks – it’s noisy, it’s smelly, hot and cramped. It’s extremely uncomfortable.
‘This is not a comfortable place to be… it’s impossible to trust anyone.’
The clip also shows him in the middle of a prison riot, where people are seen standing on a roof and throwing concrete blocks. At one point, he said he had been sprayed with tear gas.
Beresford-Redmond said in the clip that not a day goes by that he didn’t think about his wife.
In one scene, he’s seen lying on a cell bed where he said: ‘It’s in the middle of the night when the prison is asleep. I lay awake and I miss Monica.’
At that point, Beresford-Redman had not seen his children for three years.

‘I don’t think that I could possibly convey what it’s like not to have seen my children for three years… everything I have worked for is gone. If I am convicted, I face 30 years in jail.’
When Beresford-Redman was initially suspected of murdering his wife and ordered to remain in Mexico, his parents and Burgos’ sisters petitioned for custody of the two young children.
In their petition for custody, Beresford-Redman’s parents, David and Juanita, said they were retired and in good health, had a close relationship with the children and ‘would be able to devote ourselves to the care and nurture of our grandchildren’.
Beresford-Redman’s parents were awarded custody in November 2010 after a settlement was reached between the two families.
It is not clear exactly what the agreement stipulated but it was reported that Borgus’ sisters – Carla and Jeane Burgos – were only allowed supervised visits with the children as they had ‘bad-mouthed’ Beresford-Redman in front of them.
It also stated that the former producer was not allowed to challenge for guardianship within a year of the agreement being signed.
Before his conviction, he was backed by his family who believed he was innocent.
‘We are appalled and disgusted with this gross miscarriage of justice,’ the family stated in a Facebook post in 2015.
‘Over an exhausting three and a half year period this trial has done nothing but prove Bruce’s innocence beyond any doubt.’
Burgos’ family felt the ‘Survivor’ producer was guilty from the start and said their marriage had broken down because Beresford-Redman was involved in an extra-marital affair.
A lawyer representing Burgos’ sisters told DailyMail.com they did not want to comment on Beresford-Redman’s release.
