A suspect who may be linked to a series of murders in Arizona in recent days has killed himself after being surrounded by police at a motel.
Police were trying to make contact with the suspect at the Extended Stay Hotel in Scottsdale on Monday morning when he opened fire on them.
Law enforcement sources told ABC News that police gassed the motel room and sent a robot. Police said once the robot entered they found the suspect had committed suicide.
Authorities are investigating if the killings of a Jonbenet Ramsey forensic psychiatrist and two paralegals on Thursday and Friday may be linked to the death of a hypnotherapist on Saturday.

Dr Steven Pitt, a prominent forensic psychiatrist who assisted in high-profile murder cases including the JonBenet Ramsey mystery in Colorado and a notorious Phoenix serial killer investigation, was found dead near Scottsdale on Thursday.

Police released this sketch of the suspect in the first of three shooting deaths in Arizona. Authorities are investigating if a fourth homicide was also related
Witnesses reported hearing a loud argument and gunfire outside Pitt’s office.
Police said the killings Friday of paralegals Veleria Sharp, 48, and Laura Anderson, 49, at a law office were related to the Pitt shooting, but were still trying to determine exactly what linked the three victims.
A fourth professional, Marshall Levine, was found shot inside a Scottsdale office building shortly after midnight Saturday.
The 72-year-old worked as a hypnotherapist and life coach. He also provided marriage and divorce counseling.
Police said Pitt’s killer was described as a bald man wearing a dark-colored hat with a short brim. They released a sketch of the suspect in the three killings.
