Suspects wanted for taking $500k of stuff from high end Soho camera store
- Police released suspect images of thieves who looted a Leica store on 31 May
- Overall, the group of 25 looters made off with $550,000-worth of equipment
- Images from the morning after showed the glass front door smashed to pieces with window displays emptied after the thieves plundered the store
Police are hunting several suspects for swiping $500,000 of digital goods from a high-end Soho camera store.
On 31 May, as the looting of luxury stores followed peaceful protests against police brutality in Manhattan, a gang of thieves raided Leica Soho, making off with around half-a-million dollars in cameras, accessories, computers and checks worth $550,000.
Police said a man clad in black broke in to the store, stealing camera equipment, before he was followed in by a group of around 25 looters. .

Leica was not the only store targeted as looters ransacked the upmarket shopping districts of Soho and stores on Fifth Avenue.
The orchestrated attack on the city was labeled an opportunistic grab for goods at a time of national crisis.

Other high-end stores pillaged over the same weekend included Balmain, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and countless others.
More than 250 people were arrested during the same weekend, forcing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio to impose an 11pm-5am across the city.
A further 4,000 cops were deployed to regain control.
