This is the adorable moment Prince George puts a protective arm around his younger sister Princess Charlotte.

The two youngsters were on the way to meet their new little brother, accompanied by their father Prince William, when the sweet moment was captured.

Prince George guided his little sister into the Lindo Wing by putting his hand on her shoulder as they walked down the corridor.

Their mother the Duchess of Cambridge, who gave birth to the 8lb 7oz baby boy at 11.01am on St George’s Day, was believed to be waiting in her private suite for her eldest children.

The children arrived just after 4pm to meet the new arrival and were greeted by the world’s media who were waiting outside the wing.

Princess Charlotte proved that she had already mastered the royal wave as she addressed the waiting press.

However it seemed that behind closed doors Prince George also has a confident nature as he lead his younger sister to meet the new prince. 

The name of the royal baby is yet to be announced.
