Swimming coach sexually assaulting ten young girls instructor exclusive $30,000-a-year school

A Sydney swimming coach accused of sexually assaulting 10 young girls previously worked as an instructor at an exclusive all-girls school.

Before working at Mosman Swim Centre, 20-year-old Kyle Daniels was employed at Sydney’s Ravenswood School for Girls, where he also assisted as a swim coach.

Police are now believed to be investigating his time at the school after they laid additional charges relating to a new victim last week, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

The former Knox Grammar prefect is now facing a total of 36 charges relating to allegations he sexually abused nine female students at the pool where he worked.

While no complaints have been made in relation to the 12 months Daniels spent at Ravenswood, police are reportedly investigating his time there.

The prestigious Christian school in Sydney’s affluent Upper North Shore enrols students from K-12, with yearly fees in excess of $30,000 for senior students.

Daniels latest alleged victim, aged seven, came forward to NSW Police earlier this week.

Police will allege Daniels sexually abused the young girl at the Mosman Swim Centre, on Sydney’s lower north shore, between February and June 2018.

He was charged with an additional count of indecent assault a person under 16 years and an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) was taken out on behalf of the girl.

Daniels’ lawyer said his client denies the allegations.

The AVO was the eighth to be taken out against Daniels.

Daniels, who is currently studying sports science at the University of Sydney, was charged over incidents police say took place at the centre between January 1, 2018 and March 2 this year while he was employed as a swimming teacher.

The allegations include sexual intercourse with a child under 10, intentionally sexually touch a child under 10 and the indecent assault of a person under 16.

Daniels is now charged with a total of 35 offences relating to the alleged sexual assault of young girls at the Mosman Swim Centre, on Sydney's north shore. He also has eight AVOs against him

Court documents claim Daniels’ alleged offences began in January 2018, with the indecent assault of a ten-year-old girl.

Among the allegations are that Daniels had sexual intercourse with a seven-year-old girl eight times in just three weeks.

The documents also claim Daniels was still allegedly committing sexual offences on swim students up until 10 days before he was arrested.

The shocking allegations against Daniels led police to hold an information night last Thursday for concerned parents on the city’s north shore.

One mother who attended the evening told Daily Mail Australia police focused on the common behaviour of children who have been abused, after some of Daniels alleged victims were not discovered for more than a year.

‘It’s normally such a nice, family orientated area,’ the mother said.

Close to 100 parents turned out to the RSVP-only information session, with dozens more whose names were not on the list refused entry.

Those who were allowed into the session said they were told not to ask police about the allegations or investigation into Daniels.

‘They told us at the start of the session that it wasn’t going to be about the [alleged] incidents at the swimming pool and that if we asked any questions about it we would be asked to leave,’ one woman said.

At a bail hearing last month, Daniels’ lawyer said his client strongly denied the charges.

Daniels spent more than a week behind bars after his arrest before being released on bail on Wednesday, March 20.

A surety of $100,000 was posted to secure his freedom, with strict bail conditions of reporting daily to police, not going to pools and surrendering his passport also put in place.
