Sydney eye clinic’s gay marriage campaign backfires

A Sydney eye clinic has posted a photo to Instagram sharing their views against same sex marriage, but it backfired enormously.

Mobile Eye Clinic posted a photo of a pink flowers to Instagram beside a phrase describing how same sex marriage was selfish. 

‘Marriage is a commitment, say NO to selfish love, consider children,’ the clinic’s post read.

However dozens of people criticied the post with an array of witty eye puns. 

‘That’s a bit of a ‘short-sighted’ opinion,’ one user commented. 

‘You and I don’t see eye to eye on this,’ another wrote.

‘Come on, don’t make a ‘spectacle’ of this issue,’ someone else posted.

‘Not cool, lens give everyone a chance to say ‘eye do’,’ one wrote.  

The clinic, based in Chatswood, was told by Instagram users to look beyond their noses and ‘stick to what they know best’.

‘You don’t have to lash out’ one user wrote while another told the company they had ‘really poor vision for the future’. 

‘How can you be so blind? Are you having trouble with your plebisight (sic),’ another Instagram user commented.  

Despite the post being online since Sunday, the eye clinic has not responded to any of the comments.
