A construction site worker left onlookers speechless after sitting down at a piano in a shopping centre and playing a beautiful classical song.

Safety coordinator Nadi Norouzian, 33, was filmed performing in his orange hi-vis uniform at Marrickville Metro in Sydney’s inner-west last week.

Mr Norouzian’s impromptu performance went viral after being shared online with the the caption: ‘Smoko in C Major’.

The tradesman-cum-piano virtuoso told Daily Mail Australia he was playing his own music – a composition called The Curls Of Your Hair.

Commenters online were clearly impressed with his musical abilities, especially considering he was using the piano’s pedals in his heavy-duty work shoes.

‘How’s he using those peddles with those big clobbers on?’ one impressed fan wrote.

‘What a genius.’

‘Winnie Blues virtuoso,’ another joked.

‘Plenty of tradies like this,’ one said. ‘Our sparkie could sing opera as good as you’d ever hear it.’

Mr Norouzian in May shared a video of one of his unplanned performances at the Queen Victoria Building in the Sydney CBD.

‘I used to work close to QVB,’ he said.

‘I did heaps [of public performances] when I was there. I am in a band too and we have gigs around all the time.’

The piano prodigy told Daily Mail Australia he had been playing piano since the age of seven and performed gigs in his metal band in his spare time.

‘Everybody knows I am a musician. This is basically one of the first things that I tell people about myself,’ he explained.

‘But normally when I play in front of people for the first time, they become shocked.

‘They also become more shocked when they find out I play the guitar and I am in a Metal band too and also I work in construction.’
