Commuters can be slapped with a maximum penalty of $1,100 for placing their feet on train seats, according to Transport NSW.

Outraged commuters expressed how they would’ve reacted if they had been in the same situation.

‘Oh dear, I appear to have spilled my coffee on you. How clumsy of me,’ one user wrote.

‘Oh dear, I accidentally fell trying to cross over your legs. Sorry to hear they have been broken,’ another wrote.

One added: ‘ I would be extra weird and swing one leg over here too, so I’m sitting on her feet, and straddling her. I bet that would make her f***ing move.’

‘Should’ve stayed at the aisle next to her and dropped some mean farts until she left,’ one said.
