Why you should check your receipts now: Woolworths shopper spots hidden ‘free money’ detail
- Woolworths customers are urged to check their recent shopping receipts
- Shoppers have been awarded an enormous amount of Everyday Rewards points
Shoppers have been awarded a pleasant surprise after Woolworths issued them a large amount of Everyday Rewards points for their regular shop.
Rosie, from Sydney, was shocked to learn that she had received 2508 points for a $167.61 haul at her local store. Typically shoppers receive a point per dollar.
However, the Rewards App includes special offers that let shoppers ‘boost’ their points for spending on certain items in-store or online.
The shopper urged fellow Woolies customers to check their receipts for the unexpected surprise as the 2,000 points amounted to $10 in her savings.
‘Best points awarded ever,’ she revealed with a photo of the receipt.
The boosted points were awarded after an announcement that revealed several changes to the Woolies Rewards Program from July 1.
They changes include a rise in the subscription fee, the monthly 10 per cent discount only redeemable in-stores, and a $25 increase in minimum spend for delivery.

A Woolworths Everyday Rewards spokesperson revealed that members receive tailored booster offers each week.
‘At Everyday Rewards we help our members enjoy a little more everyday. Our most engaged members save hundreds of dollars each year by activating bonus point offers, shopping specials in their ‘my weekly picks’ and redeeming fuel discounts.
‘Each week, Everyday Rewards members will receive a selection of individual tailored offers via the Everyday Rewards app.
‘They can choose which offers to boost, based on what they plan to purchase that week, to maximise their savings at the checkout.’
All changes come into force on July 1, 2023.
