A low-profile couple have spent $45million on a trophy home in Sydney’s ultra-exclusive eastern suburbs, making it the city’s most expensive house sold this year.
After two years on the market, the low key couple from Dover Heights have swapped their $7million property for a stunning harbourside mansion.
Billionaire retail king Brett Blundy sold the property to Sylvia and Lawrence Myers for $12million more than what he bought it for two years ago, despite the fact no improvements were made, Domain reported.

They purchased it from Brett Blundy, who bought the house in 2016 for $33million
The exact sale price for the house remains unknown and but the asking price is thought to be between $45-$47million.
In 2016 Blundy purchased the property for $33million.
Within several weeks he had put it back on the market for an extra $12million. Six months ago the price rose again to $47million.
If the Myer’s purchased the property for the price of $45million the re-selling of the property would have made Blundy $9million after the $2.25 million stamp duty bill and an annual land tax bill of about $280,000.
The property, which was designed by architects David Walker and Peter Janks, was only completed in 2013, when Mr Blundy agreed to buy it from technology investor Neill Miller and his wife, Katherine.
The Miller family leased the property from Mr Blundy, who lives in the Bahamas with his wife, and lived there while it was on the market.
