T4 Sydney Eastern Suburbs train line closes

Commuter chaos in Sydney as entire train line SHUTS DOWN right on peak hour

Trains are operating again after urgent track repairs halted trains travelling on one of Sydney’s busier lines during the Monday morning rush hour.

Trains between Edgecliff and Kings Cross on the T4 Eastern Suburbs to Illawarra line were shut down at about 6am after an issue was found between the two stops.

The outages extended to between Martin Place and Bondi Junction for about two hours until a maintenance team were able to complete repairs.

Extra buses will still operate between the stops to help alleviate pressure on the train line.

Transport NSW urged passengers to allow for an extra  20 minutes of travel time.

Martin Place had to undergo urgent repairs during morning rush hour as recently as June 8.

The repairs similarly brought trains between Bondi Junction and Central stations to a stand still.

More to come.
