NRL power couple Tahlia Giumelli and Tom Burgess have finally locked in their wedding date after months of pandemic postponements – with brother Sam tipped to be best man.

Sources close to the pair confirmed the service will finally go ahead and that all of the Burgess brothers – including SAS winner Sam – will have roles to play in the proceedings.

It’s understood lifelong Souths fan and close family friend Russell Crowe has also RSVP’d to the event along with a large Souths contingent both past and present.
The confirmation follows several major setbacks for the young parents who share two daughters together – Sophie, 3, and Elodie, 1.
The couple were forced to postpone their nuptials on several occasions and were forced to ditch their most recent set of wedding plans in December after Tom contracted Covid-19 during a holiday to Byron Bay.
Model Tahlia, 29, recently revealed on Instagram that the wedding would ‘definitely go ahead’ in early 2022 after recently celebrating her Barbie-themed Hen’s party.
Tahlia shared a video and several photos of herself and a girlfriend making name cards for wedding guests adding the caption; ‘Progress’.
Sources have told Daily Mail Australia the intimate ceremony will take place in a ‘picturesque waterfront park’ and that the couple’s children may also play a role in proceedings.
The couple first met in 2016 and announced their engagement in 2019

Additional guests will then be welcomed at a nearby hotel for an evening of ‘socially distanced’ celebrations to be attended by a who’s who of the sport and fashion world.
It’s understood Sam will take a break from his rigorous boxing training to attend the nuptials of his youngest brother with the retired NRL great preparing for a maiden bout next month.
Sam will take on another retired hard man Paul Gallen in a bout organised by Tim Tszyu’s promoters No Limit boxing, with the winner to walk away with a prize booty of $1million.

It’s understood the promoters approached Burgess following his dominant performance on Channel 7’s SAS: Australia which the ex-Souths skipper took out easily back in October 2021.
It was a redemptive performance by the embattled footy star who has been embroiled in a messy, dragged-out split from ex-wife-turned aspiring influencer Phoebe Burgess.
However Sam continues to provide financially for their children Poppy, 4, and William, 2, of which he also shares custody.
Tom and Tahlia, meanwhile, first announced their postponement of their original wedding plans back in July following two years of intricate planning.
‘With another wave of Covid hitting NSW our priority is and always will be the safety of our family and friends,’ Tahlia write on social media.
‘I have no doubt when it happens it will be just as amazing. Really feel for all the brides who have had to do the same. But right now a wedding didn’t seem like a number one priority’.
The couple announced their engagement on New Year’s Eve in 2019, after three years of dating.
