Tammy Hembrow has fired her older sister, Amy, after more than two years as general manager of her popular activewear brand, Saski Collection.
The Instagram model, 25, announced on Wednesday that Amy, 29, had been sacked several months ago because she ‘wouldn’t listen’ to her.
‘Because we were sisters, she wouldn’t really listen fully to what I’d say. She’d think that she knows best,’ Tammy said on her podcast, Hanging with the Hembrows.

Tammy launched the business in May 2017, acquiring office space, a warehouse and a team of employees based on the Gold Coast.
Amy had taken a lead role in administrative duties from day one, but is no longer part of the company.
Tammy continued: ‘Now that [Amy] hasn’t been working for me for a little while, it has actually made us get along so much better. I don’t regret it.’

Amy had apparently refused to speak to Tammy for several days after she was sacked, but now understands why she had to do it.
‘The truth is, I do feel like I know what’s best for you. It’s really good for me too, though. I always felt that Saski was Tammy’s baby,’ she said.
Amy is now starting her own business with her other sister, Emilee, in which she will be an equal partner with a 50 per cent share.

Elsewhere in the podcast, the Hembrow sisters reflected on the launch of Saski Collection.
Emilee said that Tammy had ‘begged’ Amy to leave her job in Sydney so they could work on the project together.
‘This is the thing with Tammy, she jumps into something so quickly and then works backwards, and I love that. I think that’s why we worked so well in the beginning,’ Amy added.

Amy still works for her younger sister’s second business, Tammy Hembrow Fitness.
In a YouTube video from last December, Tammy offered fans a glimpse of her Saski Collection headquarters, including footage of Amy working at a computer.
In September, she attended Business News Australia’s Young Entrepreneur Awards on the Gold Coast, where she won the ‘Fashion Designer’ award.
She was recognised at the event for ‘leveraging her social media following to create a business to be reckoned with in the online retail world.’
