Fitness model and entrepreneur Tammy Hembrow launched her athleisure company Saski, named after her youngest daughter, just 12 months ago.
And in that time the brand of high quality tights, crop tops and hoodies has sold in over 190 countries, making a revenue of $3.6 million.
‘In our first year we were struggling to keep up with demand because there were limited resources, now with the right production processes in place, we are managing inventory demand much better,’ the 24-year-old from the Gold Coast told FEMAIL.

‘Since the beginning I’ve always wanted my own clothing label. I pretty much live in gym clothes and wanted something that I would personally wear,’ Tammy said.
‘With Saski Collection I was able to marry fitness and fashion, it was the perfect match.’
Tammy rose to prominence on Instagram before the buzzword ‘influencer’ became a catch cry for millennial entrepreneurs, but she’s proven to be a powerhouse way beyond having a well sculpted physique and adorable children.
‘My brand not only has a spokesperson that people resonate with already but focuses on athleisure wear more than just activewear,’ she said.

‘You don’t have to be a gym junkie to wear the brand, it’s versatile, and some of our new pieces that we will be showcasing in New York Fashion Week this year focus more on outerwear.’
With preparation for NYFW well under way for September, as well as almost monthly drops of various clothing products, a typical day in Tammy’s life changes all the time.
‘A typical working day is an early start to get ready before my two kids wake up,’ she said.
‘I have a pretty fluctuating calendar through the week consisting of shoots, meetings, design sessions, PR events and office time managing my employees.
‘Somewhere in between that I like to make it to the gym whether it’s after my day finishes/before the kids finish kindy or during my lunch break.

While she admits she’s still learning when it comes to balancing being a business woman and a full-time mother, Tammy admits she’s lucky in many respects
‘If my day is too full I might try and get in a home workout. Once the kids are asleep I respond to emails and prepare for the next day. It never ends but I wouldn’t have it any other way, I love my job.’

‘I’m lucky in the fact I can make my own schedule, I can be there when the kids wake up and finish kindy and I can work from home at night.
‘I have a great support system in my family but it definitely gets really hard. I’m still trying to get the balance right and I try not to beat myself up when I get it wrong.’

‘Train for your goals. Your goals will change as your body does so for me it’s important to continuously reevaluate what I’m doing in order to keep progressing.
‘Whether this means increasing my weights as I get stronger or changing my diet.
‘When I’m trying to slim down I will decrease my calories but when I’m trying to build my muscle I will increase my calories… as my body changes so do my goals.’
