As the former hostess of 1980s dating show Perfect Match, Debbie Newsome knows a thing or two about romance.
And the TV legend, 57, had some words of advice for Sam Cochrane following his proposal to her daughter Tara Pavlovic on Bachelor In Paradise.
According to Woman’s Day, Debbie told her future son-in-law there are two very important things to remember when it comes to relationships.
‘Make sure the bedroom is always happy!’ Tara Pavlovic’s mum Debbie Newsome has revealed the cheeky advice she gave her future son-in-law Sam Cochrane after his on-screen proposal
‘Make sure the bedroom is always happy… and don’t have too many headaches,’ was Debbie’s advice to Sam.
Her other recommendation was: ‘Always show each other love and respect.’
Debbie made the comments after watching the long-haired larrikin, 31, pop the question during the Bachelor In Paradise finale.
The former TV star, who appeared in the 1981 Bond film For Your Eyes Only, watched the finale with Tara, Sam, and Sam’s mother Rosie.
‘I was holding Rosie’s hand and we were both crying,’ Debbie said, before revealing that she liked Sam from the moment she saw him on TV.
‘I would have picked him straight away. He’s just such a sweetheart,’ she added.
After the episode aired, Tara told The Project she ‘could hardly hear what was going on though because mum was crying so loud.’
The nanny, 28, added: ‘She was so emotional. It was so nice to have both our mums there. My stepdad was there too.’
Speaking of growing up with a famous parent, Tara said last year: ‘I didn’t think she was different to any other mothers.’
