Target launches its first fragrance brand Good Chemistry

  • Target is launching an exclusive fragrance line, Good Chemistry, this month
  • No scent in the line costs more than $25
  • Shop other affordable fragrances from brands like Pacifica and Flower Beauty

There’s nothing wrong with having one signature scent, but wouldn’t it be fun if that bottle cost less so you could build an entire fragrance wardrobe without breaking the bank? Target wants to make that a reality.

The retailer is gearing up to launch its first exclusive fragrance brand, Good Chemistry, January 21.

The packaging is Instagram-worthy, the scents sophisticated and varied and best of all, the price point seriously affordable – no bottle costs more than $24.99.

The 16-piece line is broken up into four personality categories, Confident & Charming, Cool & Grounded, Vibrant & Playful and Cool & Collected, so there’s something for everyone.

Smells like a winner: Target is launching Good Chemistry, an exclusive fragrance brand, with 16 scents starting at $9.99, January 21

Floral fans will find favorites among the Confident & Charming range with fragrances like Magnolia Violet, a flowery yet warm blend of magnolia, peony and amber, while those with a sweet tooth will satiate their appetites with Good & Grounded offerings like Sugar Berry.

Earthy scent types might gravitate towards the nature-inspired Cool & Collected foursome, which includes Coast, an ‘ocean’ and rosemary mix that smells like something a grown-up surfer might wear.

And then for those who don’t like to smell like anyone else, there’s Vibrant & Playful fragrances like Daydreamer, that, thanks to notes of sea salt, pineapple and cashmere woods, is sweet and earthy all at once.

Every scent is created with essential oils and without parabens or propylene glycol.

Good Chemistry joins a handful of brands offering quality fragrance at drugstore prices, a category we hope to see continue to grow. Shop some of our go-tos – all $20 or less – below.

With this blend of essential oils, plant extracts and an infusion of rose quartz (a crystal known as the ‘love stone’), aromatherapy meets fragrance.

You’ll feel good and smell good.

This new-to-the-US bath brand targets Generation Z, but that doesn’t mean the body mists smell juvenile.

The packaging of this cult-favorite brand is minimalist, but the scents featured in the 16-piece range are anything but.

A favorite is Rose Enfume, a dark, sexy twist on a classic with notes of cumin seed, vetiver, bergamot and of course, rose.

Go to & Other Stories, H&M’s sister retailer, for the quirky printed blouses and reasonably-priced leather accessories, stay to obsess over the beauty section which contains fragrances that only smell fancy.

We love that the scents are unique. Fig Fiction, for example, blends pink pepper, bamboo and fig with Brazilian rosewood and dark plum.

We have yet to be disappointed by a Flower Beauty product, which makes sense considering it’s founded by self-proclaimed beauty junkie Drew Barrymore. The fragrances are no exception.

Turquoise, described as a watery floral,  is the latest addition to the line and features notes of blue lotus, honeydew blossom and figwood.
