The son of Channel Nine star Richard Wilkins, who is ambassador for Victoria Racing Club, recently praised the VRC for taking a step in the right direction by allowing guests to drop strict gender-bound rules and ‘express themselves’ how they want.

Speaking to news.com.au ahead of the Melbourne Cup this week he said that he identifies as male, but sees all gender as ‘non-binary’.

‘I feel like [the cup carnival] was so guided by these very strict, gender-bound rules and to break that open and just allow people to express themselves how they want to be, that’s such a key ethos that I live my life by,’ he told the outlet.
