Taylor Swift will introduce strict new security measures for her upcoming Reputation Stadium Tour in Australia.

The American singer, who is expected to perform to more than 200,000 people during her residency Down Under, has banned a number of items from all venues she is performing at around the country.

The ten-time Grammy winner, 28, appears to have followed in the footsteps of Ariana Grande, who enforced a total ban on ‘bags of all sizes’ during her own Australian tour in September last year.

The Shake It Off hit-maker, who will be supported by English singer Charli XCX and New Zealand sibling duo Broods, is believed to have put the measures in place for public safety.

Ariana enforced a total bag ban during her Australian tour following the tragic bomb attack at the singer’s Manchester concert in May 2017.

The devastating terrorist attack killed 22 fans and left dozens more injured.

Security measures for Ariana’s Dangerous Woman tour were enforced by promoter Live Nation, who is also bringing Taylor out to Australia.

At the time, Live Nation alerted fans of ‘bag of all sizes’ being banned.

They also advised concertgoers to leave cameras at home and travel light as no cloak room services would be provided – it’s unclear if the same rules will apply for Taylor’s upcoming concerts.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Taylor’s management and touring partner Live Nation for comment.

During her 2015 Australian tour, Taylor’s fans were banned from bringing backpacks or bags with a dimension larger than A3 size (30cm x 40cm).
