Taylor Swift is booed by fans as they wait in rain

She is usually adored by her awaiting fans.

But Taylor Swift received a not so friendly welcome as she exited her best friend’s wedding – where she was a bridesmaid – in Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday.

As the 27-year-old pop star hid from view leaving the church, fans waiting in the rain to catch a glimpse booed with some even chanting: ‘Very disappointing. not cool!’

Bashful: Taylor Swift, 27,  received a not so friendly welcome as she exited her best friend’s wedding – where she was a bridesmaid – in Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday

In a video posted by TMZ, children and adults alike were shielded from the 10 foot walk between church door and SUV with large black tarps.

Taylor, who released revenge single Look What You Made Me Do earlier this week, looked truly stunning in a halterneck maroon gown as she tended to her best pal Abigail Anderson at the splashy nuptials – held on the popular island, just south of Cape Cod.

She looked effortlessly stunning in her floor-length gown – which cut into a classic sweetheart neckline and clung to her slender frame, before cascading into a soft A-line skirt.

Keeping co-ordinated from head to toe, Taylor matched the dress’ hue with a bold wine-coloured lipstick, and sported a soft smoky eye and loose curls to elegantly tie the look together.

Keeping accessories to a minimum with only a simple silver pendant however, the country singer ensured all eyes were on stunning bride Abigail, as she fulfilled her bridesmaid duties and carried her billowing train into the church.

Meanwhile Abigail certainly stole the show in her elaborate bridal gown, which went against tradition with its off-white and pale pink hue.

The dress pulled into a gorgeous strapless neckline, before it perfectly hugged her slim frame all the way down with its delicate white lace pattern.

Making more of a statement, the bridal gown then expanded into a dramatic fishnet bottom of bold pink tulle – which was so voluminous it required Taylor’s help to carry.

Completing her stunning look, Abigail added a long cream veil, patterned with matching lace flowers, to her classy curled up-do, and clasped onto a bouquet of pink and maroon flowers, as she headed inside to say ‘I do’.

Having been friends throughout their school years, Taylor’s mother Andrea also attended the nuptials – looking equally classy in a black knee-length frock and matching shawl.

Taylor appeared completely relaxed as she spent a weekend with her family and friends at the wedding – after the release of the first single from her new album, Look What You Made Me Do, and its somewhat controversial music video.

Despite setting tongues wagging however, the song has already found huge success, and has rocketed to the top spot of the UK chart in its first week, following 30,000 downloads and 5.3 million streams.

There was a much darker, edgier feeling to the new release – which saw an angry-looking Swift dressed in all black, as she supposedly took jabs at Katy Perry, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Tom Hiddleston in the lyrics.

At one point, Taylor was seen dressed up as Katy – sporting her trademark leopard print and a cropped wig, similar to a former hairstyle of Perry’s.

The Perry character is seen getting in a nasty car accident as paparazzi take her photo.

The lyrics seemingly reference Perry in the second verse when she says her unnamed rival ‘locked me out and threw a feast’ – perhaps a reference to Katy’s song Bon Appetit.

The second verse also features the line ‘They once belonged to me’ which is thought to be about her and Perry’s argument over their tour dancers.

There also appeared to be a jab at Kim in the video as Taylor laid in a bathtub full of diamond jewels, and spoke about her enemy’s ‘perfect crime’.

Fans believe the songbird was alluding to Kim’s traumatic jewel robbery in Paris in October.

Finishing off her string of digs, Taylor is then seen flanked by backing dancers sporting ‘I Heart Taylor Swift’ T-shirts – famously worn by ex Tom Hiddleston last July.

The single marks the first released from her upcoming sixth studio album Reputation, which is set for release on November 10.

Despite her hectic career schedule however, her appearance at the wedding also comes after she contributed to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

More than 30,000 people were left in overcrowded shelters across Texas and Louisiana, after floods swamped through Houston after the heaviest rainfall in US history.

The former country singer made a sizable donation to Houston Food Bank in honor of her mother, Andrea, who attended University of Houston.

‘We thank you, Taylor, and we thank everyone for donating to help rebuild our community,’ the Houston Food Bank wrote in a statement on Facebook.

Her foe Kim Kardashian and her family also donated $500,000 to causes, alongside a whole list of contributors, including Ellen Degeneres, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Bullock.
