Taylor Swift ‘rented out ENTIRE Irish castle for Christmas celebrations with boyfriend Joe Alwyn’

Taylor Swift ‘splashed out £50,000 to rent ENTIRE Irish castle for lavish Christmas celebrations with beau Joe Alwyn and his family’

Taylor Swift reportedly rented an entire castle in Ireland’s picturesque West Limerick to celebrate Christmas with her beau Joe Alwyn and his family.

According to Goss.ie, the 29-year-old American pop star rented out the 18th Century Glin Castle for two weeks, at an eye-watering cost of £50,000, before jetting back to New York City on Wednesday.

A source told the site: ‘Before Taylor’s arrival, staff at Glin Castle had to sign a non disclosure agreement, to protect her identity during their stay.

‘She was also spotted at the local pub O’Shaughnessy’s, but it’s pretty old-fashioned so not many people there knew who she was. Taylor and Joe kept a low profile, but seemed to really enjoy themselves as they explored the Irish countryside.’

Adding further fuel to the speculation, British actor Joe, 27, took to Instagram shortly after Christmas to share a shot of himself enjoying a stroll through an area that looked strikingly similar to well-known local trail Knight’s Walk.

It is thought that Taylor became enamoured of the castle when she spent time in the province of Munster – which houses Limerick – while playing concerts there in June.

While Taylor’s reported stay at the castle has sparked a flurry of excitement in the locale, Glin Castle already has its own ties to the entertainment industry.

Actor Dominic West is married to Catherine Fitzgerland, the daughter of the castle’s most recent owner, Desmond John Villiers FitzGerald, the Knight of Glin.

Following their reported break, Taylor and Joe have returned to New York City and were spotted strolling hand-in-hand after lunch at a restaurant in West Village.

The couple had an entourage of friends and four bodyguards in tow as they walked to Washington Square Park and other parts of the SoHo area.

Joe is best known for his roles in director Ang Lee’s film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in 2016 and 2018’s critically acclaimed biographical drama Boy Erased, starring Nicole Kidman, Joel Edgerton and Lucas Hedges.

They have reportedly been dating since September 2016, and have made it a priority to keep their private life private.

‘I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,’ Joe told People in reference to the public’s interest in him and Taylor.

‘I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people…but I really prefer to talk about work.’
