Teacher, 50, assaults a 20-year-old sexual assault victim at an Oregon restaurant

High school teacher, 50, is arrested after ‘assaulting 20-year-old sexual assault victim at a restaurant after dining with the parents of the man convicted of attacking her in 2017’

Police say 50-year-old Trisha Lynn Ebbs attacked the woman at a Hops N Drops in Keizer, Oregon, on the night of January 24

An Oregon teacher has been placed on administrative leave after she was arrested for assaulting a woman at a restaurant that she recognize as a 2017 sexual assault victim.  

According to a release from the Keizer Police Department, police were called to a local Hops N Drops at around 9.35pm on January 24. 

There they learned that 50-year-old Trisha Lynn Ebbs had been at the restaurant with a group of people when she noticed the woman – now 20 – sitting at a table. The woman was there with her father and another person. 

Ebbs recognized the woman as having been a victim of a sexual assault that was investigated by the Marion County Sheriff’s office in 2017.

The male suspect in that case – now 21 years old – was charged with sexual assault against the woman and another, minor female. 

Ebbs had been with parents of the person convicted of the sexual assault, at the time of the event at Hops N Drops.

That prompted a much larger scuffle that involved men from both parties. 

Witnesses told police that Ebbs was ‘on top of them’ when describing her behavior toward the victims. 

The group was eventually separated by restaurant personnel until police arrived.

Ebbs was arrested for disorderly conduct and processed at the Marion County jail.  

The woman was identified as a health teacher at North Salem High School by people in the comments under the police department’s post. 

Ebbs had previously been employed at McNary High School as a wellness teacher. 

A spokesperson for the Salem-Keizer Public School District said in a statement to KPTV that Ebbs was placed on administrative leave Monday.
