Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso is back for a second season – and a brand new trailer for it has been released.

Jason Sudeikis plays the titular American football coach, with the second season seeing him attempting to turn around his team AFC Richmond’s prospects following their relegation from the Premier League.

New scenes see Ted trying to coach the team’s continuing streak of draws after they were relegated from the top flight before resorting to desperate measures by introducing his foul-mouthed alter-ego.

He’s ba-ack! Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso is back for a second season – and a brand new trailer for it has been released

He says to the press, ‘I’ve never been embarrassed about having streaks in my draws – it’s all part of growing up!’ proving the comedy is as sharp as it was in season one.

But after seeing his team relegated at the end of season one, Ted decides he must resort to desperate measures by bringing out his fierce alter-ego – Led Tasso.

Storming onto the pitch, ‘Led’ flips over the drinks table before screaming for the team to touch their toes and branding them ‘turd-birds.’

It remains to be seen whether Ted (or Led) can turn around his team’s prospects and land the club promotion back into the Premier League.

The likes of Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster and Nick Mohammed, will be back, and Sarah Niles is joining the cast in season two as sports psychologist Sharon.

Apple TV Plus renewed the critically-acclaimed series back in August, just two days before it debuted, while also revealing Season 2 debuts July 23.

Footballing legend Gary Lineker is said to be featuring in the new season.

The former England star, 60, is allegedly set to train the fictional AFC Richmond, and is said to have filmed material for the second season alongside his Match Of The Day co-host Ian Wright

An inside source told The Sun: ‘When Gary was approached to be a part of the show he absolutely jumped at the chance.

‘When it comes to TV, Gary is an old hand so he didn’t need much guidance on the day. Everyone working on the show told him he was a complete natural.

‘Gary will feature in the next series of the show during a scene where Ted’s assistant Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt, is imagining he is out for a night on the tiles in the capital.’

This isn’t Gary’s first on-screen appearance, he previously featured on An Evening With Gary Lineker, which followed a couple abroad during the 1990 World Cup.
