The man attacked the 16-year-old after striking up a conversation with her.
The teenager was waiting for a bus in Carrum Downs in Melbourne on November 22, police say.
Police have released an image of his car in the hope someone will recognise it
The offender is aged in his late 20s to early 40s with short black hair.
He was wearing a short sleeve Hawaiian-style shirt.
He also verbally abused the girl before fleeing in a red hatchback with distinct spoke rims.
